Dr Bhatnagar
Consultant Psychiatrist | Adult ADHD Specialist
Dr Bhatnagar is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 16 years of experience and a special interest in Adult ADHD. He is fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), listed on the Specialist Register since 2008, and holds a licence to practise. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) and is Section 12(2) approved under the Mental Health Act.
He is in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, undertakes regular Continuing Professional Development, is appraised annually, and has successfully completed GMC revalidation.
Training and Professional Registration
Dr Bhatnagar has extensive clinical and leadership experience across NHS services. He has held senior roles including Greenwich Clinical Director and Clinical Director for the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust acute and crisis service line. He was later appointed Head of Medical Profession within the Directorate.
He is part of the award-winning Oxleas Adult ADHD Service, which received the Psychiatric Team of the Year for Working-Age Adults at the Royal College of Psychiatrists Awards.
He has also been appointed by the Judiciary Office as a Medical Member of the First-Tier Tribunal, Health, Education and Social Care Chamber (Mental Health).

Adult ADHD assessment and management
Community psychiatry

Mental health assessments under the Mental Health Act
Support for patients assessed under Sections 135 and 136 (Health-Based Place of Safety)
He has completed specialist training in Adult ADHD assessment through the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN), including training in the DIVA assessment process and treatment of Adult ADHD. He has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing ADHD in community psychiatric settings.
Academic, Teaching and Leadership Roles
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Bhatnagar is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London and previously served as Trust Lead for medical student teaching at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
He has over 15 years of involvement in medical education and has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching. He continues to provide teaching, training, appraisal and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
